Ruth Oreschnick BSc (Oxford Brookes University) MA (Anglia Ruskin University), HCPC Registered Music Therapist
I have been working as a Music Therapist for the past 6 years, having qualified at Anglia Ruskin University. I have extensive experience of working with children with a wide range of learning disabilities, and am passionate about supporting children and teenagers to develop to their full potential in the areas of communication, emotional health and social interaction. I am currently working part time for Parity for Disability at The Henley College, providing music therapy for teenagers with learning disabilities, and have worked in special needs schools, adult day services, and in private practice.
I support children and teenagers with a range of needs including developmental delay, Retts Syndrome, Autism, PMLD, communication needs, and challenging behaviour.
I believe that working with children within a multi-disciplinary approach is the most effective way to support a child. I love working with children and their families to offer the best support possible, and work closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and early years specialists to tailor music therapy sessions to the specific needs of each child.
