Cathy Tustain-Heath BA (Hons), MA Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK) and PCAP accredited.
Cathy Heath is a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, who studied her Masters degree at Roehampton University and is registered with The Association Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK). Cathy joined the Owl Centre team in 2016, providing one to one and group sessions for children and adults. She also works independently throughout Oxfordshire, working in primary schools, providing DMP sessions for children and PCAP (Parent and Child Attachment Play) sessions for parents. PCAP supports parents to work therapeutically at home with their children through creative play.
As a trainee, Cathy worked alongside a Dance Movement Psychotherapist within the NHS, working in a psychiatric unit. DMP was provided for mothers within a mother and baby unit and for males within the forensic unit. Cathy has previously worked with adults, at The Banbury Therapy Centre, in order to facilitate clients who were adopted or in the foster care system.
As well as being a therapist, Cathy has been a foster carer for 7 years. Cathy’s area of research is exploring DMP as an intervention for children with attachment-related difficulties and working with foster and adopted families.
Cathy is registered to practise with ADMPUK registration and is working towards a UKCP accreditation. She is also PCAP accredited.
