The Dance / Movement Psychotherapist at The Owl Centre in Oxfordshire combines expertise and experience with a friendly and sympathetic approach to the children and parents they see. They also have links with the NHS to ensure a seamless continuity for clients who have received NHS assessments or therapy.

Cathy Heath is a Dance Movement Psychotherapist, who studied her Masters degree at Roehampton University and is registered with The Association Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK). Cathy has recently joined the Owl Centre team, but previously provided Psychotherapy through Dance / Movement within a Primary School setting, with children in a group and on a one to one basis.
As a trainee, Cathy worked alongside a Dance Movement Psychotherapist within the NHS, working in a psychiatric unit. DMP was provided for mothers within a mother and baby unit and for males within the forensic unit. Cathy has previously worked with adults, at The Banbury Therapy Centre, in order to facilitate clients who were adopted or in the foster care system.
Foster care is an area of interest for Cathy as she has been a foster carer for six years. Cathy’s area of research is exploring DMP as an intervention for children with attachment-related difficulties.
Cathy is registered to practice with ADMPUK accreditation and is working towards a UKCP accreditation.
