•Lauren Bryan BSc (Hons) University of Wales Institute Cardiff, MRCSLT, HCPC Registered, MASLTIP
Lauren graduated in 2008 and her professional experience to date working within the NHS has allowed her to develop clinical skills in supporting a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within early years, mainstream school and specialist settings, which include communication and interaction resource bases. Lauren has a special interest in working with children who have difficulties with speech sound production and children who have difficulties with social communication and interaction, including Autism.
Lauren prides herself on being able to build trusting relationships and a strong rapport with children, their families and teaching staff to ensure a collaborative approach, with the child and their family at the forefront in determining and evaluating outcomes for therapy. Lauren provides functional therapy intervention, which is fun, creative and rewarding, and which can be incorporated into everyday activities both at home and at school. Therapy will be evidence based and may combine different approaches to best suit the needs of the child, their family and their setting. Lauren will work closely with parents to ensure that they are provided with clear, manageable strategies which they feel confident in implementing.
Lauren is passionate about supporting a child / young person’s education setting because she believes that language and communication are crucial to children reaching their learning potential and to their social and emotional well-being. Lauren works closely with teaching staff to maximise the benefit of therapy programmes and to facilitate access to the curriculum. She has extensive experience in providing group interventions to support speech, language and social communication which can be provided in early years and school age settings.
