  • I have experience of working with children from the age of 1-16 years and the majority of this experience has been with preschool-aged children.
  • I am required to provide ongoing care for children with varying difficulties for example, developmental language disorder, language disorder, social communication difficulties, genetic disorders, autistic spectrum condition, cleft palate, hearing impairment, global delay, learning difficulties, speech delay/disorder, phonological delay, stammering, voice difficulties.
  • I have a specialist interest in social communication difficulties and developmental language disorder.
  • In recent times, I have adapted my practice to comply with Covid-19 advice and have gained a wealth of experience working virtually. At the height of the first pandemic I volunteered to carry out staff swabbing.
  • Key responsibilities:
  • Providing assessment and intervention for children aged 1-16 years
  • Line management responsibilities
  • Providing reports for education/parents and carers/EHCPs/Paediatricians/AHPs
  • Creating individualised care plans for parents and carers/ education
  • Provide observational reports used to support Paediatricians in the diagnosis of Autism
  • Complete home/ school visits when necessary
  • Experience :
  • Running Signalong Workshops for parents and carers/ educational settings
  • Running Social Communication Workshops for parents and carers
  • Running Preschool Language Groups
  • Responsible for a research project into the evidence base behind the care pathway/packages offered
  • Experience in administering a range of formal and informal assessments
  • Supporting Speech and Language Therapy students
  • Experience in carrying out observations of children’s play and social communication skills
