  • Claire qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2005 and has worked with children with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
  • In 2008 Claire specialised in Autism Spectrum Conditions and has worked as part of a diagnostic team since 2012. She is trained to deliver autism-specific diagnostic assessments such as the ADOS and ADIR and assess both children and adults for an autism spectrum disorder.
  • Claire's most recent role was as a Clinical Neurodevelopmental Supervisor where she was responsible for supporting and developing Autism Assessment Practitioners and ensuring quality assessments within the Neurodevelopmental Pathway.
  • In addition, Claire jointly set up an 'Academy’ which involved producing and delivering a 12-week training programme for Trainee Neurodevelopmental Practitioners.
  • Claire is experienced in delivering autism assessments and speech and language assessments online as well as in person.

Interesting / fun facts

  • Claire is particularly enthusiastic about supporting girls and women with autism. She provides training for diagnostic clinicians on the potential differences experienced by autistic women and girls to develop clinicians’ skills and knowledge to better identify the more subtle characteristics.
  • Claire has undertaken training in Animal Assisted Therapy. She has had a number of pets and currently has an elderly Skinny Pig called Toby and a young Hungarian Vizsla called Adelaide.
