CV

  • I am a Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist with the ADMP UK.
  • I work with with children, adolescence and adults in: schools, community centres, children centres, and therapy centres. I offer individual and group therapy.
  • I use a Humanistic / person centred approach, where the therapy focuses on the person as a whole - developing a stronger, healthier sense of self, whilst learning to understanding feeling and emotions.
  • Every therapy space is a safe and supported environment which is non-judgmental, confidential and focuses on the individual’s strengths.
  • Dance Movement psychotherapy works to address both body and mind, this is done by verbal and non-verbal communication using the body as an extension of self-expression.
  • Movement expression is encouraged by the use of props, music, play and art. All ages and abilities would benefit from DMP as well as, children / adults who:
  • Do not have the vocabulary to fully express feelings and emotions
  • Whose body is changing due to illness
  • Experience mental health issues
  • Want to learn to manage emotions appropriately
  • Are disconnected from feelings and emotions
  • Find it hard to express emotions
  • Need extra emotional support

Interesting / fun facts

  • Mindfulness is an interest of mine and I incorporate aspects of this within the therapy space.
  • I believe in the power of the Body & Mind Connection.
  • I am a Aerial Arts teacher and trainee Yoga teacher.
