Interesting / fun facts

  • I have a specialism in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and once gave up the power of speech in order to use a communication week for 5 full days (no talking allowed in any situation, except using AAC strategies). This enabled me to learn about the challenges of using AAC successfully, raise awareness of AAC/ communication difficulties whilst raising money for charity.
  • I am a keen amateur musician, playing piano and violin.
