Scope
This discipline can help to assess:
- Phonological skills.
- Visual and auditory discrimination and memory.
- Verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
- Sequencing and all skills that may go to making a dyslexic profile.
- Reading, writing and spelling problems.
- Arithmetic and numerical problems.
Format
An assessment lasts approximately 3 - 3.5 hours. Afterwards, you would be given a diagnostic judgement and a comprehensive report providing recommendations for future action. Our specialist would also be able to liaise with school / parents to suggest suitable intervention programmes and work that could be carried out by a teacher or teaching assistant.
Number of sessions
At present, The Owl Centre only provides dyslexia and dyscalculia assessments and not follow-up 1:1 sessions.
