The Owl Centre's medico-legally trained Occupational Therapists provide expert witness, legally binding assessment reports for EHCPs and / or tribunals, clinical negligence, and other areas in which a legally binding report is required.

Preparation: a preliminary discussion with the client, as well as reading any previous reports and other documents, and liaising with relevant parties (for instance, school, work, other health care professionals, and so on).

Assessment: face to face assessment of the patient.

Report writing: creating the legally binding document.

Court appearance: the therapist will testify in court if required.

The report will typically include:

- Strengths and challenges.

- Goals and outcomes (targets for therapy and suggestions re: frequency of intervention).                      - Recommendations / strategies.

After the report has been created, you will be provided with a follow-up phone call or online session of 30 minutes to discuss the assessment and get more information for the provision of any therapy programme.

All work is charged at a fixed rate of £79.20 per hour plus 40p / mile for any travel. The overall charge is usually between £900 and £1200.
