CV

  • I have over 30 years experience in working with children and adults with ASD, ADHD, Challenging behaviours, Emotional difficulties, SEND, and SEMH across many different settings including educational, home and social environments
  • I work as a parent coach with families within all areas of life such as, home, school, social settings, to support with any negative, challenging and aggressive behaviour and promote emotional regulation, social skills & self esteem.
  • I support adults with Autism, Personal or Emotional difficulties & anxiety to develop strategies to address and support behaviors that are creating problems.
  • I trained as a Nurture Practitioner and regularly use The Zones of Regulation which is complete social-emotional learning curriculum, created to teach children self-regulation and emotional control.
  • I have established and managed two separate Residential and Respite centres one in Dubai UAE and the other in Johannesburg, South Africa.
  • I work closely with professionals, teachers and school staff, providing classroom observations, planning, modeling techniques and providing training to support education, social & communication skills and behaviour interventions.I have trained as an Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA ) Therapist, and sometimes during my work with children I use ABA to support the child to acquire skills such as Joint attention and Listening skills.

Interesting / fun facts

  • I lived in Dubai with my family for 15 years and learnt how to speak a little bit of Arabic.
  • I have also lived in South Africa and loved seeing all the amazing animals there, Hippos are my favorite.
