  • • Marie qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2011 with a First-Class Honours degree from Manchester Metropolitan University.
  • • She has a wealth of experience working for the NHS across a range of different settings including community clinics, nurseries and preschools, mainstream schools, client homes and via virtual delivery.
  • • She has a wealth of experience working with children aged 2-16 years with a range of different speech, language and communication needs.
  • Marie completed her ADOS training in December 2021.
  • She is passionate about developing knowledge and skills in working with a neurodiverse client group. Marie has existing experience of contributing to autism diagnoses of both adult and child clients through completing developmental histories and contributing to ADOS assessments.
  • • Her current role involves working as part of a Local Authority Early Years Service where she delivers and co-ordinates a universal training, support and advice programme across the Early Years sector.
  • • Marie is an Elklan-trained tutor and delivers the Speech and Language Support for 0-3 and 3-5s course to Early Years practitioners.
  • • Marie is trained in the delivery of the Hanen programme: It Takes Two To Talk.
  • Marie is a Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) tutor and has trained a number of school staff in the approach to implement with Reception and Year 1 children.
  • • Marie was a project lead for Trafford in the DfE Greater Manchester Pathways to Talking project, which led to developments and progress in building a stronger SLT focus in the area, across a number of early years disciplines.
  • • Marie is passionate about working closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team and believes that joint working is essential for achieving positive outcomes.

Interesting / fun facts

  • Marie has worked abroad in Alberta, Canada, which involved providing speech and language intervention to preschool children with complex communication needs for the Calgary Board of Education.
