  • She has significant experience working in a variety of settings including mainstream primary schools and special schools; children centres; clinics; preschools and nurseries and a language resource unit.
  • Rima is an advocate for inclusion in all settings, and strives to support all children to achieve their maximum potential. She works with children and young people aged 0 - 18 years old including:
  • Preschool children (0-5yrs) with speech and/or language delay and disorder. Rima is experienced in delivering a number of early years interventions such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Michael Palin Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Attention Autism and “Learning My Language”, a programme designed to support younger children with social communication difficulties; and one-to-one speech and language programmes.
  • Primary School children with language delay/disorder, speech sound delay/disorder; social communication difficulties and Autism. Rima has also been part of various projects to support schools to set up universal speech and language interventions for all children in their schools.
  • Assessment and intervention for children and young people with presenting voice disorders.
  • Rima has received training in many speech and language intervention programmes such as Colourful Semantics and Shape Coding, Word Aware, Language for Thinking, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and symbol use, Cued Articulation, Makaton; and assessment and therapy programmes related to childhood voice disorders.
